Our mission is to make assessment more
meaningful, fair and job-relevant.
Assessing people using simulations isn’t new. We’ve known for decades that observing people directly, in realistic scenarios, produces better evidence of capability than any test or self-report measure. The problem was always scale.
Over ten years ago, Alan Bourne and Tony Li visited the Serious Games Institute at Coventry University, a research centre developing simulation technology for health, education and training. The application to workplace assessment was immediately obvious, but so was the gap: the technology wasn’t scalable.
Symulate is what happens when it finally is. AI-native simulation technology, built by a team with deep occupational psychology credentials, designed to produce the quality of evidence a traditional assessment centre delivers, without the cost, the logistics, or the limits on reach.
“AI has increased both the potential and the pressure on assessment. While the integrity of many traditional approaches is under threat, the industry now stands at an important inflection point: AI makes it possible to deliver highly predictive, immersive, job-relevant simulations at a scale that simply wasn’t feasible before.
We built Symulate to bring assessment back to the job itself. By combining skills frameworks, immersive simulations and AI, we’re able to generate deeper, more relevant evidence — while still operating at the scale organisations need. This isn’t about removing human judgement, but about strengthening it.”
